Meeting of CEO’s of French groups at the French Ambassador’s Residence

French Ambassador FrÃĐdÃĐric JournÃĻs recently hosted, at his residence in Jaffa and with the support of the France-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a private gathering bringing together the local heads of major French groups operating in Israel for an exchange of views on the current business environment. The occasion allowed the ambassador to share a stimulating and high-level perspective on the current situation, as well as on the risks and opportunities facing companies closely connected to both countries.

Among those participating in the meeting — aimed at promoting the France brand and highlighting Israel’s attractiveness — were representatives of Alstom, Schneider Electric, Dassault SystÃĻmes, Thales, EDF Renewables, Egis and Coface, as well as those from L’OrÃĐal, Sodexo, Decathlon, Altavia, Air France and i24NEWS. Discussions focused on Israel’s macroeconomic situation, which remains favorable and demonstrates notable resilience despite the war, as well as on the promising prospects now beginning to emerge.

Participants emphasized the value of the example set by the companies present, which continue to operate successfully in Israel, raise funds and expand despite challenging conditions. The meeting also highlighted the importance of a coordinated effort to convince French decision-makers of the strategic and commercial value of the Israeli market and to encourage them to maintain and deepen their engagement there.

The security situation was naturally also addressed, with participants noting the contrasting perceptions across different markets, which often complicate decision-making and risk assessment. Ultimately, the discussions reflected a shared confidence among these business leaders in Israel’s economic fundamentals and their collective commitment to maintaining and expanding the presence of French companies in the country.

By general consensus, the meeting was considered highly enriching — an excellent opportunity to exchange views with peers and strengthen an important relationship between the two business communities. It may well serve as the prelude to the creation of a kind of “CEO Circle” that the embassy and the Chamber of Commerce could consult whenever needed.
